Sustainable Fashion: More Than Just a Trend

The popularity in second-hand shopping has grown in part due to affordability but also the desire to buy clothing more sustainably. Thrift shopping and buying vintage fashion is a way to combat the waste resulting from the clothing production method of “fast fashion.”


Am I thrifting because I need to or because it’s a trend?
One person’s trash might just be another person’s treasure.

Note: Although Zara is a fast-fashion outlet, the company recently announced plans to make sustainability a top priority. By 2023 Zara plans to cut out reliance on single-use plastic completely. Included in their sustainability initiative, are plans to rely on renewable energy for all production and office purposes by 2025 as well as transition to zero landfill waste.
