As the demonstration proceeds through the night, the M1A2 Abrams tanks fire 120 millimeter rounds down range with procession. Due to the dry southern heat, one of the explosions spread and started a field fire. The nearest fire fighting unit was 30 minutes away and Delta Company had to utilize some tools at their disposal to extinguish the flames. Canteens, water jugs off the back of the tanks and the bottom of boots began to melt.
The military is considered to have the highest stress rate in the nation and it is 365 days out with no breaks. So next time you see a service member, put yourself in their boots. It does not matter if they have been deployed, or have taken a life. They volunteer and swear to defend your nation from all enemies, both foreign and domestic.
