Sarah Bradshaw

Alumni Profile: Sarah Bradshaw

Sarah Bradshaw
Sarah Bradshaw has been working at the Poughkeepsie Journal since 2003. She began as a business reporter, but received the title of investigative reporter last year. The Journal was the first job she took after graduating from SUNY New Paltz with a journalism degree.  The most important story that she has worked on was when she revealed that a local orthopedic surgeon had been fired by his medical group and was the target of two dozen medical malpractice suits.  This resulted in his former patients getting second opinions and finding out (allegedly) that he performed faulty surgeries on them. Bradshaw grew up in Duanesberg, NY, but also spent one year in Poughkeepsie, NY.  Growing up, Bradshaw participated on the track and cheerleading teams. She decided to attend SUNY New Paltz because she had lived in Poughkeepsie for a brief period and was familiar with the area. She wanted to stay close to home, but not too close. She liked the atmosphere of SUNY New Paltz.  She currently lives with her husband, Chris, and her one-year-old son, Jake. Bradshaw views journalism as a public service and thinks digging up dirty information makes communities a better place.
